Centrally Manage File Level Backups without Investing in Expensive Infrastructure.

A decade ago most mission-critical information was stored on centralized servers. Today, data mainly sits on desktops, laptops and intranet sites as users create, access and share data while on the go and from multiple machines. While accessibility has changed, the impetus to store, protect and secure that data has grown. These individual systems need to be backed up as reliably as servers in the data center.

The problem is economic. With some organizations managing thousands of systems spread out over a large geographic area, is it really cost effective to build out an extensive backup and recovery infrastructure that can protect these widely distributed machines?

And with users taking laptops on the road, working from home or splitting their time between offices, is it even possible to ensure these systems are regularly backed up to a level acceptable to your organization’s disaster recovery and compliance policies?

Unfortunately, you likely don’t have a choice.

Enhance Backup and Recovery Capabilities without Investing in New Infrastructure

Kaseya Online Backup allows organizations to conduct remote folder- and file- level backups of distributed desktops, laptops and servers that can be accessed and restored to any machine at any point in time. The backup data is stored online on Amazon’s S3 SAS70 Type II compliant cloud storage platform thus eliminating the need for organizations to invest in robust—and expensive—disaster recovery infrastructure.

Kaseya Online Backup is integrated directly into the Kaseya IT Automation Framework and other IT systems management functions like auditing, desktop migration and monitoring. This allows for central management of file- and folder- level backups of all systems in the IT environment—regardless of whether they are currently logged into the corporate network.

Restores are conducted centrally as well. After a disaster scenario, lost data or failed system, an administrator can remotely restore a system from backup files stored in the cloud. You can do this from anywhere with an Internet connection to the same machine or to a completely new system. Users can even restore lost files and folders through Kaseya’s end user portal, providing one more recovery option that gets users up and running as quickly as possible.

Benefits of Kaseya Online Backup

  • Ensure all distributed desktop and laptop folders and files are backed up as reliably and consistently as servers in the data center
  • Conduct point-in-time backups of distributed systems for multiple restore options
  • Eliminate the need for upfront and ongoing backup infrastructure investment by paying for what you use
  • Meet dynamic data mobility needs and disaster recovery compliance requirements
  • Get users back up and running quickly after a disaster, data loss or system failure
  • Enable self-service recovery though end user portal
  • Meet SAS70 Type II Compliance
  • Schedule backups for the least disruptive time
  • Save bandwidth and other resources through incremental backups
  • Automate low-cost monthly billing for cloud storage usage

Ensure All Systems are Backed Up Reliably and In Line with Backup Policies

Setting up backup infrastructure is not only expensive, it can be complex. In order to ensure every system is being backed up consistently administrators need to discover distributed machines and make sure they are connected to the network, turned on, and ready for backup. Then they need to execute the backup command and ensure disaster recovery policies are being applied. Finally, they are required to confirm backup status for internal reporting and compliance.

With thousands of distributed systems that need to protected, the process is virtually impossible with current backup solutions on the market.

Centrally Manage Your Backups

Kaseya Online Backup simplifies and centralizes the process of managing, monitoring and reporting on distributed online backups. Administrators can access the online backup module through the Kaseya dashboard, leveraging the auditing technology to discover machines, set backup policies and ensure they are ready to be backed up. VPro technology can even be used to turn on machines that have been powered down.

Administrators can select various files or folders that need to be backed up for each individual machine, sorted by file type, file location, date created or last edited. The backups can be regularly scheduled by month, week, day, hour or minute, or on demand as the administrator sees fit. Kaseya also allows administrators to set Continuous Data Protection (CDP) capabilities that automatically and continuously back up files that have been edited, renamed or changed. The Kaseya dashboard monitors the cycles, alerts administrators to failed or successful backups and generates easy-to-read status updates that can be integrated with other IT systems management reports.

Secure Backup Data on the Cloud

Administrators can manage backup data from the cloud directly through the Kaseya dashboard. Key backup status metrics such as backups in progress, successful backups, etc. is provided and alerts indicating a completed or failed cycle can be automatically sent to administrators. When it’s time to recover, administrators can restore the backup files directly from the cloud to the same machine or a new system.
